ST LUCIA

ST LUCIA – Rodney Bay

This is the place for Cruise Ships and packaged holiday tours!

The anchorage in Rodney Bay is very good and clean. People buzz around on jet skis, some crashing into boats, Hobie Cats have to be rescued from far out because the ‘skippers’ aren’t really experienced.

The nicest thing for us was the fact we traded in our old dingy for a new one, got a good ‘deal’ and the owner, a nice old guy, Francis Lucas, drove us around the island too!

Our friends, Holli and John, on Shiloh conviced us to sail down south, back to Marigot Bay, for a scenery change. It is very picturesque and the old movie Dr Doolittle was filmed here. This is also a provisioning base for MEGA yachts, and they're big and beautiful! Enough bow and stern thrusters ensure they safely navigate in and out of the narrow channel. I guess the skipper is good too, heh heh heh! We ended up having happy hour at two pubs and needed a good sleep!

Part of the DEET crowd is Holli, Shirley, Me, John Aldworth and John Wishart. All enjoying a couple of rum punches at the Yacht Club

Mark below, looking official!
