St Vincent - Pirates of the Caribbean

We decided to make our next stop in St Vincent. Unfortunately it is not that well visited, as some people have had bad experiences with theft, murder etc. Most incidents seem to involve some shady interaction with locals(lush green island with high unemployment=drugs, etc).

We decided to give it a go, as Walliabou Bay was one of the main sites for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

The local folk are poor, very friendly and make their living selling crafts and fruit etc. They also take your stern rope and tie it around a tree ashore, for a small fee.

We only stayed one night as we were able to clear out of St Vincent and the Grenadines. Judging from the beautiful scenery, St Vincent has a lot to offer the visitor, there are many small anchorages all along the coast. The fishing here is great too. We wished we could've stayed longer, but we have to move up as there is still lots to see before hurricane season starts.
